Please note and share the following information with friends and neighbors:
The sheriff’s office would like to warn you about a recent trend of break ins occurring overnight to unlocked vehicles with valuables inside. The Sheriff’s office is currently working on leads to identify the suspects involved in recent vehicle burglaries, but would like to remind you to please remove valuables from your vehicles (phones, I-pods, purses, wallets etc.) and lock your doors.
Thank you very much and please report any suspect information directly to NET-COM @ 831-471-1121

Any chance to have better signage at the pedestrian crosswalk (Highway 9 and Main St)? Drivers are speeding through the village and not stopping for pedestrians. My dogs and I have been in the middle of crossing and have to stop or be run over by drivers not stopping. Most of those were also on cell phones. Thank you

Public works is in charge of road signs and striping, you can reach them at 454-2160, I would also suggest following up with a note or phone call to your county supervisor Bruce McPherson who would be a better resource to speak with.

I do believe this was brought up to Supervisor Mcpherson's attention at the town planning meeting. Certainly additional phone calls from various community members may be of benefit.

Public works response was: Call Cal Trans - County of Santa Cruz, Department of Public Works can't help - not their area
